Audition Notice

Hale Centre Theatre is proud to announce auditions for HCT’S Ovation Company for 2026 Fall Semester. Auditions will be by video submission only and will be done via the link HERE (please no YouTube Shorts) and will be due by 10pm, Friday, August 7th, 2026.

Hale Centre Theatre is thrilled to bring back Ovation Company! This high-energy program invites young performers to bring the magic to life onstage and throughout the community. Each semester will feature a fresh theme and give students opportunities to grow their singing, acting, and performance skills while sharing their talents across the Wasatch Front.

Why should you join Ovation? Students will get to perform in Hale’s brand-new performance space, take part in community and service-based performances that uplift and inspire audiences, learn and perform with theatre professionals in voice, acting, and movement, and build lifelong friendships and confidence through teamwork and creativity!

Tanner Sumens will be the director with choreography by Karlie Dodds for the Ovation Company. Fee per semester for Ovation is $350 (there will be a 10% discount for each additional child from the same family).

HCT is looking for Youth ages 8-12 for our Ovation Choir. There is no fee to audition.

FOR YOUR VIDEO:

We would like you to slate (please introduce yourself by saying your name and the name of the piece you are performing), and sing 16 bars (around 30 seconds) of an upbeat, musical theatre song. You may sing either your own piece OR a cut provided HERE .

Please also film horizontally and submit through an unlisted YouTube link (please no YouTube shorts). We want to see personality and storytelling!

We would also like you to demonstrate your dance ability! Please learn and perform the following combo for your audition, watch example videos HERE .  Don’t worry if you haven’t done this before, just try your best, have fun, and let your personality shine. You don’t need to be perfect — we love seeing confidence, creativity, and joy when you dance! Everyone auditioning must submit a dance video. Please submit both your singing and dance videos in one unlisted YouTube link.

HCT Ovation Choir will hold weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:45-7:15pm beginning Tuesday, September 1st, 2026. They will have a showcase at HCT at the end of the semester. They will perform for Founder’s Club nights at HCT Dec 3rd-14th. They also will have Christmas performances throughout the community throughout November and December. Dates to be determined later. The Hale Centre Theatre Fall Showcase will be Thursday, November 12th 2026.
