Homeschool Theater
| Join us for an exciting 16-week journey into the world of theatre! This class is perfect for homeschool students eager to explore acting, singing, dancing, and the magic that happens behind the curtain. All experience levels are welcome, as we scaffold to help them continue to explore and grow as artists and individuals. Students will learn the essentials of theatre, build confidence, explore their voice, discover their stage presence, and learn to tell stories as a group and as an individual. Through interactive activities, improvisation games, preparing: scenes, songs, pantomime, masks, and Shakespeare, they will have the opportunity to become strong storytellers. We’ll discover what makes live theatre such a powerful form of storytelling. Along the way, we’ll visit the behind-the-scenes world of technical theatre, with opportunities to get a glimpse into the world of lighting, sound, props, projection, and the amazing moving stage at HCT. The course culminates with a special "Showcase” where students will share what they have worked on with you! Their friends and family in the audience. |
