AUDITION NOTICE

Hale Centre Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol 2025”. Auditions will be by video submission only and will be done via the following link HERE . Please have your video ready as a YouTube link (No YouTube shorts) BEFORE you sign up. All video submissions will be due by 10pm, Monday, May 5, 2025. Videos submitted after 10pm will not be accepted.

Ebenezer has much to learn and much to teach about listening, giving, repentance, forgiveness and love. Charles Dickens’ enduring tale of awakening and change is gloriously told in lavish production–a feast for the eyes & a feast for the heart!

“A Christmas Carol” will be directed by John J. Sweeney, with musical direction by Justin Bills and choreography by David Smith. “A Christmas Carol” will run on our Jewel Box Stage from November 28, 2025 through December 27, 2025.

Except for the roles of Ebenezer Scrooge & The Ghost of Christmas Present, all roles are open and will be double cast. Please see the character descriptions
HERE for more details.  We are looking for a diverse cast of actors, singers, dancers and children. For this production we will not be able to offer any AEA contracts.

FOR YOUR VIDEO: Please slate at the beginning of your video and tell us your name. When you slate please show your full length body shot, side & front. When singing, please move forward so we can see you from the chest up. Please prepare no more than 30 seconds of a song in the style of the show. We need each auditioner to also prepare a selected line from the show in an authentic British and/or Cockney accent, view lines

Call backs will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 and will be by invitation only and will be in person. Additional reading & singing and possible dancing will be done at the call backs. All cast members are paid and pay rates, depending on the role, range from $40 to $130 per performance.Weekday Matinees are paid at an additional $20 per performance.
