Ryan Simmons

The Cat in the Hat

Ryan was last seen earlier this season as Mr. Wormwood in Matilda.  Previously, he performed on our West Valley stage as the title character in The Nerd (both 2006 and 2017 productions) and as Lumiere in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Other favorite roles include, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Charlie in The Foreigner, and Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream.  His performance at The Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival last summer won the “Best One-Man Show” award.  Ryan dedicates this performance to his kids: Simon, Sally and Stuart.  "Anything is possible!"

Another newcomer to our stage, Travis’ previous shows include Shrek, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Camelot, and The Music Man. He has also performed for three years as a featured soloist for the Red Mountain Music Company in Las Vegas. He is currently studying voice instruction with IVA’s Jeffery Skouson, and is a Vocal Coach for Anderson Vocal Studio. “Thank you to my family, friends, vocal students, and my beautiful wife for all your support!”

Kelly was last seen on our stage as Gabrielle in our recent production of Cinderella. Recent roles at HCTO include Jerusha Abbott in Daddy Long Legs and Katherine in NEWSIES. She graduated from UVU in performing arts and loves working in the education department at HCTO. “Enjoy the show! :)”

Bailee Morris

Bailee returns to HCT having recently been seen as Katherine in Freaky Friday,  Glinda the Good Witch in The Wizard of Oz, Mae Tuck in Tuck Everlasting, and Sister Mary Patrick in Sister Act. Some of her favorite roles include Melpomene in Xanadu, Gloria in Damn Yankees, Lucy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Mama Noah at BYU, where she was also in the Young Ambassadors program for three years. Bailee is a contemporary voice teacher and freelance photographer. “To my Snuggle Family: I love you. Taylor, Zoe, and Tilly, you are my world.”

Mack is thrilled to be back on the HCT Stage.  Local roles include Marie in Cinderella (HCT), Medda Larkin in NEWSIES (HCT), Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act (HCT), Oda Mae Brown in GHOST the Musical (HCT), and Witch in Big Fish (HCT & HCTO). “Special thanks to my Mom and Dad for your continued love and support and to Bob for putting up with me even though my life is a show tune. Abrin was last seen on the HCT stage as Adam in Freaky Friday. Previous HCT credits include: An American in Paris, The Wizard of Oz, Albert/Bill in NEWSIES, Tuck Everlasting, Ensemble in Elton John & Tim Rice's AIDA, Joel in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, as well as Disney’s Beauty and The Beast and Oliver!. Jason was last seen on the HCT stage in Freaky Friday, The Wizard of Oz, Tuck Everlasting, and Elton John & Tim Rice's AIDA. Other previous HCT roles include Jeb in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Sultan in Disney’s Beauty and The Beast, and Magician in Big Fish. He has also performed as Ensemble in In the Heights and Combeferre in Les Misérables at HCTO. When not on stage, Jason works as an Analyst for Vivint Smart Home. “I am extremely grateful to the production team and all those involved with this fantastic production. I am truly humbled to be able to perform at such a beautiful theatre.”

Ben Butters

We are happy to welcome Ben back to our stage. His HCT credits include: An American in Paris, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Big River, Disney's The Little Mermaid, Catch Me If You Can, and Mary Poppins. He is currently a student at BYU in the Music Dance Theatre program. “So excited to be a part of the world of Dr. Seuss! Grateful for everybody who supports me!”

Sam Cooper

Sam’s all-time favorite role has been Mush in NEWSIES-here at Hale Centre Theatre. His favorite roles at Riverton High School (where he is part of their MDT program) include: Bobby in Crazy for You, Usnavi in In the Heights, Prentis in Peter and the Starcatcher, and The Fox in Cinderella (along with others). He also played Lysander in HCT’s Youth Production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Other Youth shows include Genie in Aladdin, Earthworm in James and the Giant Peach, and Scar in The Lion King. “I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to do what I love! ‘Anything’s Possible!’”

Patch Wendel

Patch was last seen in our productions of Freaky Friday, The Wizard of Oz, and Tuck Everlasting. Other credits include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Pirate Queen, The Addams Family, and Elton John & Tim Rice's AIDA on stages including CenterPoint Legacy Theatre and the Zigfield Theatre. When not on stage, he works for Endo Tech. “Every day we consume food and entertainment till we are sick, yet every night we fall asleep empty.”

Josh Lee

Another newcomer to our stage, Josh performed in RISE The Musical for Parable Productions, Dracula for Three Ring Theater, The Tale of Aladdin for Aerobatics, EVITA for Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, and NEW DANCES for University of Alaska. He trains in aerial silks, aerial straps, and lyra at Onyx Pole and Aerial Fitness Studio, Aeris Aerial Arts, and Aerobatics, and has performed in multiple circus productions and showcases. He has an MFA in Video Game Production and Design and a BA in Film Studies from the University of Utah, and an AA in Dance from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Josh is an Associate Project Manager at Cricut. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my aerial teachers and friends who have supported me on this journey and believed in me every step of the way.”

Kennedy Johnson

HCT is glad to welcome Kennedy to our stage for the first time. She has performed at Sundance Summer Theatre in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Sound of Music, and Mamma Mia!. She was recently in the cast of Tuck Everlasting at HCT Orem, and has been Fantine in Les Misérables, Mary Jane in Big River, and Eve in Children of Eden at American Fork High School. In the summer of 2018, she performed in Who Shot Juanito Bandito and Tarzan at the Pickleville Playhouse at Bear Lake. She is currently in the BFA Musical Theatre program at BYU and teaches younger kids voice lessons. She also directs and produces her own theater workshops. She spends her spare time dirt biking or doing massage therapy.

April Kerr

This is April’s fourth production at HCT; she was seen in Freaky Friday, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and A Christmas Carol. Some of her other favorite productions include Les Misérables, Pippin, and Tarzan at Kensington Theatre and Annie, The Little Mermaid, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Herriman Arts Theatre. She is currently a junior in the Commercial Music program at UVU. She teaches piano and voice lessons to children. “If we play emotion, the audience cannot” - Rodger Sorenson

Tianna Maxwell

Tianna is making her HCT debut with Seussical. Her Hale Center Theater Orem credits include: NEWSIES, Anything Goes, and Disney's The Little Mermaid. At UVU, she was in Legally Blonde, A Year with Frog and Toad, and 9 to 5. For Noorda Center Productions, she was in Fly More Than You Fall. She also has worked as a Character Performer at Walt Disney World. She is a senior at UVU with a BFA in Musical Theatre. “Life isn’t about finding yourself; life is about creating yourself.”

Andy Hansen

HCT is glad to welcome Andy back to our stage. He was seen in our productions of Peter and the Starcatcher, Beau Jest, and Oklahoma!. He also performed in Hamlet, A Christmas Carol, and The Jungle Book for the Orlando Shakespeare Festival and just finished his Master’s degree at the University of Central Florida. “Love to my wonderful friends and family!”

Morgan was recently seen in Cinderella, Marie in our production of The Scarlet Pimpernel and was in the Octet for A Christmas Carol. Favorite past roles include Polly in Crazy for You, Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family, Martha Jefferson in 1776, and Brenda Strong in Catch Me if You Can at Centerpoint Legacy Theatre. She also played Pinkalicious in Pinkalicious the Musical for Utah Children’s Theatre. She attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre with an Acting Emphasis. “Special thanks to my personal Prince Charming, Zackery, and to my family who have always supported me playing pretend.”

Parker Burnham


Parker is happy to return to HCT's Centre Stage, where he was recently seen as Eric in Matilda and Winthrop in The Music Man. Other favorite roles include Mayor of Munchkinland in The Wizard of Oz, Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol, Chip in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and Genie in Aladdin Jr.. He is also a member of Rise Up Children’s Choir. When not on stage, this 6th grader loves to read, sing, tap, play baseball, and hang out with his friends and family. “Thank you Dave, Kelly, Sally, Mark, and everyone here at HCT for this experience. I am so grateful to be back on this incredible stage doing what I love!”

Zac Zumbrunnen

Zac was last seen at Hale Center Theater as Sargent Carlino in Wait Until Dark and as Mayor Shinn in The Music Man.  Favorite roles at HCT include Cogsworth in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Alf in Peter and the Starcatcher, Mr. Marachek in She Loves Me, Goran the Spy in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Harry Brock in Born Yesterday. Zac holds a BFA in Theatre Education from The University of Utah and teaches Drama at Evergreen Junior High School. Zac would like to thank his amazing and supportive family for “letting him play.”

Jessica Bird

Jessica was last seen in HCT’s productions of The Wizard of Oz, Elton John & Tim Rice's AIDA and Disney's The Little Mermaid.  She studied linguistics and child psychology and development and is an aerial acrobatics performer, illustrator, and calligrapher. She has studies with Ramsi Nia Knowlton-Stoker of Defying Gravity Utah, and the wonderful coaches at Anti-Gravity Orlando, as well as teaching/choreographing at ONYX Pole and Aerial Fitness, Aeris Aerial, and Aerobaticsz. “Thank you to my loving husband and family for supporting me, as well as all of my friends and coaches who push me to work hard and be better!”

Olivia Lee

Inspired by our production of Disney's The Little Mermaid, Olivia began her aerial arts journey with Ramsi and her studio, Defying Gravity Utah. Now performing on the HCT stage is truly a full circle experience. She has performed with the Utah State University Spirit Squad (also as a dancer and cheerleader), for Murray Arts Council’s production of Tarzan, for the BeatALS Benefit concert, and for the University of Utah’s Night Circus Benefit Gala. She is a junior in the Communications Studies program at Utah State University. “Thank you to Ramsi, Defying Gravity Utah, and Hale Centre Theatre for allowing me to perform above this stage.”

Jessical Kehl

Making her debut on our stage, Jesscia comes to us with a diverse resume. As former pageant winner, Jesscia served as Miss Draper. Growing up, Jesscia was a state champion in gymnastics then moved onto cheerleading at BYU, where she served at cheer captain for 3 years. She loves judging and choreographing for both cheerleading and pageants. Jessica graduated from BYU with a degree in photography. Her first introduction to aerial silks was watching Ramsi Stoker perform with ODT. She has trained for 9 years in aerial arts at studios all across the country and most recently with Ramsi at aerobatics. She has 3 children and is married to former NFL player,  Bryan Kehl. “Thank you to my wonderful family, my husband and my beautiful children that inspire me to be my best every single day!”

Kimberly Paulsen

Kimberly has recently been seen on our stage in The Wizard of Oz and Elton John & Tim Rice's AIDA. In 2016 and 2018, she took 1st place in the Aerialympics All-Star Division, was an Aerialist for Eclipse 6’s 2017 Hamildolph, and was an Aerialist for the Night Circus at the Women’s Resource Charity in 2017. She trains at Defying Gravity Utah with Ramsi Nia-Knowlton Stoker, as well as at Onyx Pole and Aerial Fitness, and Kairos Fitness. Kimberly is currently a student at SLCC. “Shoot for the moon.
