Hale Centre Theatre offers summer camps each summer for students ages 8-18.

Students may attend either half-day or full-day. **The half-day option is available for Sessions 4 and 5 ONLY!**

A discount of $10 will be offered for a student attending more than one session, or for more than one member of an immediate family attending the same session.

2017 Summer Performing Arts Day Camp Classes

Session Six - July 31 - August 4, 2017     This session is full*

Tuition information:    Full day - $210          Half day - $125

Class registration begins on April 1 of each year and closes 10 days before the start of each session.

Acting: This class focuses on establishing the "building blocks" of acting with which the students can begin analyzing text and creating characters. Older students may also spend time learning different period acting styles.

Singing: Students will be introduced to the basic components behind proper vocal technique. Using a variety of exercises, they will begin exploring their own musicality and rhythm. Emphasis will be placed on ear training and breath support. More advanced concepts such as harmony are added as students work on specific songs.

Theatre Dance/Movement: Younger students will be taught to utilize their bodies to find their mental and physical centers while developing their imagination and focus. Older students will be provided with a working knowledge of the essential elements involved in dance for the theatre. Styles may include jazz, modern and hip hop.

Daily Schedule (Subject to Change):

Sessions One, Two, Three and Six will offer Acting, Dance and Singing from 9:00am to Noon with a Friday showcase. From 12:30pm to 4:00pm, the focus will be putting together a mini musical which will be performed on Friday.

Session Four will include basic movement, stage combat and improvisation from 9:00am to Noon and techniques of performing Shakespeare through theatre games and acting exercises from 12:30pm to 4:00pm. All classes will perform at the Friday showcase

Session Five will focus on make-up, costume, and set design from 9:00am to Noon and puppetry, clowning and magic from 12:30pm to 4:00pm. All classes will culminate with a Friday demonstration/showcase.
