Hale Centre Theatre is proud to announce naming rights for the new performing arts centre in Sandy City, Utah.

The MOUNTAIN AMERICA PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE - Home of Hale Centre Theatre

Hale Centre Theatre is honored and thrilled that Mountain America Credit Union has chosen to support HCT in such a significant way. The construction of the theatre is a major undertaking and HCT has received incredible support from many in our community. We can't think of a better name for this new, one-of-a-kind performing arts centre. There are many reasons HCT is so appreciative of this support, here are just a few:  Mountain America Credit Union is a national, highly respected Utah company and will be building its new incredible headquarters just to the north of the new theatre. As a company, it is widely respected for helping families and businesses (like HCT) achieve their dreams. The beautiful name highlights the world-renowned mountain setting we all share and adore. And finally, the people at Mountain America Credit Union desire to safeguard HCT. They want to protect and build upon the success HCT has enjoyed to this point and protect it for future generations.

HCT wishes to thank all those who have contributed significantly to this project! HCT wishes to thank Mountain America Credit Union specifically today, and is so excited to work and play in its new home - the Mountain America Performing Arts Centre.

As this centre is the home of Hale Centre Theatre, both names will be on the building and we will always carry the Hale Centre Theatre name.

Friday, December 9, 2016 marked the completion of building the walls of Hale Centre Theatre in Sandy. In a traditional "topping out" ceremony, the final steel beam, painted white and signed by hundreds of people involved in the project, was hoisted into position. For photos of the event, visit HCT's photo gallery.

Have you seen the construction progress of our new, larger Hale Centre Theatre in Sandy? Our 130,000 square foot performing arts center will house two theatres - a centre stage and a proscenium thrust stage - totaling 1,300 seats. This wonderful new theatre will feature a world-class, one-of-a-kind stage, more seating with additional legroom, more parking (that's covered!), easy accessibility and more theatre opportunities for Utah's great pool of theatre talent. We thank Sandy City for providing the land and a $42.7 million bond to make this project possible. The theatre will be adjacent to a stunning one-acre park complete with water features and green space.

The Jewel Box Stage (proscenium thrust) will open in September 2017 with Forever Plaid and the Centre Stage will open a couple of months later in November with Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA.

We are happy to report our project is still on budget and HCT will continue to be a great value for families!
