A Letter from HCT's Chairman of the Board, Rob Brough, Regarding Expansion Announcement
We want you to be among the first to know that Hale Centre Theatre's Executive Board and Sandy City have agreed on a location for a new facility on an 11.5 acre site at 9886 Monroe Street, between, and adjacent to I-15 and the Sandy City offices.
Our future home will include two separate stages comprising apporximately 1,350 seats combined. The new centre stage theatre will be slightly larger than our existing facility with one additional row and improved legroom.
Terms of the agreement are awaiting approval from HCT's Board of Trustees and the Sandy City Council. Once this is finalized we will be announcing more details. This decision has not been easy. Our board has worked meticulously over the past few years to determine the best way to expand. This is necessary to meet growing demand as we have been at nearly 100% capacity for over a decade. After significant research and analysis, the board has determined that moving to Sandy will best help HCT accomplish its mission.
We are grateful to West Valley City, which has been a terrific partner for the past 17 years. We look forward to continuing to produce world-class, family theatre in West Valley City through 2016 while we work to construct our future home.
While expansion will offer tremendous opportunities, our commitment to providing the same intimate experience and affordable family theatre will never change. We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to sharing more details about the new facility in the near future.
Chairman, Board of Trustees
